How FishingGuideNow Works
Customers
As a customer, you choose a guide either by name, species, or fishing spot. Once you find a guide, you click on his name to see a calendar with his available dates. When you find your desired date, you click the "book trip" link and put in your information to secure the date. Then, you immediately pay the deposit by either Paypal or Google checkout.
After that, your guide should contact you by phone or email to let you know the time and place to meet, what to bring, etc. You will receive an email with your guide's contact information. If you don't get an email or phone call from your guide, you should contact him.
Once you have agreed on all the arrangements, you meet with your guide and fish. After your trip, you pay the remaining balance (plus optional tips) to your guide.
The following day, you will receive a feedback request. You can then give your guide feedback for the trip. Since guides know they will be rated, they should be more apt to give you good service. Fishingguidenow.com will hold the deposit for a time (1-2 weeks) to ensure that you fished with him and he met his obligation. Once you give feedback, he will quickly receive the deposit. So, your guide will appreciate it if you give feedback in a timely manner.
Participating guides are required to keep their dates current. However, if for some reason your guide isn't able to fish with you on that day, you have the option to let the guide find someone else to take you out on that day. If that isn't acceptable, you can either postpone the trip or request a refund for your deposit.
If you aren't able to go on the scheduled date and give at least 30 days notice, you can request your guide to reschedule your date and apply the deposit to the future date. If for some reason you can't fish on that day and don't give notice, you will be subject to forfeit your deposit at the guide's discretion.
Guides
As a guide, you register for the user-friendly program that will make your life easier. First, log in and go to your guide calendar and enter your current trips and your days off.
The system allows both full and part time options. With the full-time option, you start with every day available and you block off days you can't fish or already have trips. If you choose the part-time option, you start with nothing available and you click on each date that you want to be open for trips.
Any date that you block off or enter a client from your guide calendar (black screen) will not be available for clients to book (from the blue screen).
You are required to keep your schedule up to date. You will be sent a reminder email every week that shows you exactly what dates you have available.
If a customer books a trip from a link on your own site, those are your customers and fishingguidenow.com will not intervene. It is up to you to collect all money and make all arrangements. You will, however, receive an email showing that trip and all your future trips. This list will replace the old way that you were tracking your customers. You should keep a printout of this list in case of computer disaster.
If a customer books a trip with you from a link on fishingguidenow.com or an affiliate site, we will collect the deposit and you will receive an email stating that this person has booked the trip and paid the deposit. You then make all arrangements for meeting place and time, what to bring, etc. You can set up your guide calendar to where all you need to do is click a button to give them all the information they need. That is a very useful feature that you should take advantage of.
After your trip, your customer will be sent an email asking to give you feedback. If they give feedback, you will immediately be sent a check for your deposit (less 10% of the trip price). If your customer doesn't give feedback, there will be a waiting period of 1-2 weeks to ensure that you took the customer out and we aren't obligated to give a refund.
