If God were to make a list of the things He didn't want us to do, the Bible would be too big to carry around. It was easier for Him just to say what He wanted and expect His Word to be obeyed. He is perfect; therefore, there is no need to try to improve His perfect plan.
||You shall not add to the word
which I command you , nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
||Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.
|2 John 1:9
||Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. (NAS)
||...Nadab and Abihu...offered profane fire before the LORD, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the LORD and devoured them, and they died before the LORD .
I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of
this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will
add to him the plagues that are written in this
book ; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
|1 Corinthians 4:6
us you may learn not to exceed what is
written , so that no one of you will become arrogant in behalf of one against the other.
